Fellowship of Isis
Founding and Managing a Lyceum
In order to found a Lyceum, a member must first be a consecrated Priest/ess Hierophant, and recognize an additional calling to instruct others in the FOI Magi Degree system. It is also recommended that the member already have a working Iseum before founding a Lyceum.
Once all the guidelines are met, the member is sponsored and certified for her/his own center through the Lyceum where training was obtained. This is obtained through courtesy and discussion with the Hierophant/s of the training Lyceum. Goodwill is essential among all the Hierophancy of the College of Isis, who share a telepathic awareness of their spiritual work. Only Founders of previously certified and registered Lyceums may sponsor a member for a new Lyceum. There are no “self-appointed” centers or appointments in the FOI.
See the sections below for specific guidelines to manage a Lyceum. See also these specific pages:

Initiation into a FOI Lyceum:
Initiation into a Fellowship of Isis Lyceum is given through the rite of Flamma Vestae, either in person or through attunement. This ritual may be found in the Iseum section of the Online Liturgy (in the Panthea booklet), or in the Lyceum Manual.
Creating a curriculum:
The dedicatory Goddess, or Goddess and God, manifest particular attributes of the Deities associated with the Lyceum. Therefore there is no set curriculum for the College of Isis. Hierophants, through direct inspiration from their particular Deity, produce their own original training program. This reflects the democratic character of the Fellowship. One linking factor between all Lyceum programs of study is that they are based on the FOI Lyceum Liturgy and Magi Degree system. The FOI Liturgy was inspired by Isis through Olivia Robertson, FOI co-founder.
Acceptance of Magi Degrees:
Once a program of study is complete, the student has an opportunity to attain a Magi Degree through enactment of a corresponding Mystery Drama. Hierophants confer Magi Degrees in the manner that they accept a member's experience of Divine Awareness once received during the ritual. For full guidelines, please see the section Requirements for a Valid Degree.
Sponsoring & registering a new Hierophant:
Only previously certified and registered Hierophants may train and sponsor another member as a Hierophant. Once the requirements are met (a minimum of 4 Magi Degrees achieved through appropriate course and ritual work), the new Hierophant is then consecrated through the FOI ritual Flamma Sacerdotae: Consecration of a Hierophant. It may be performed either in person or through attunement with the training Hierophant.
A FOI certificate is issued to the new Hierophant and the new appointment is then registered with an AU member. (See the section on FOI Registration.) Only a Hierophant registered in this manner may go on to found a Lyceum and teach the FOI Magi Degree system.
Sponsoring & registering a new Lyceum:
Only previously certified and registered Lyceum Founders may sponsor a member for their own Lyceum. A FOI certificate is issued and the new Lyceum is then registered.
If for some reason the new Lyceum Founder does not already have an Iseum, they are now chartered and registered for one. All Lyceums are paired with a Fellowship Hearth of the Goddess.
