Samhain Letter from Cressida Pryor
October 29, 2025

Dear FOI Friends,
With greetings of this season of Samhain.
This weekend the ‘clocks were changed’ in the UK…this happens twice a year, in March and at the end of October. And it means there is a certain confusion as the usual routines of life adjust to an hours shift,
either backwards or forwards…
Nature, of course, is oblivious.
The leaves are still released from the trees as they retain essential chlorophyll back to their roots and
birds chase the autumn berries as they did anyway. Although I have noticed one confused squirrel
moving one acorn to many different potential hiding places…maybe spoiled for choice…who knows?
I have recently learned of a tactile neurone in our skin which is fired only at a particular ‘sweet spot’ of a
certain temperature and speed of touch…apparently we know this unconsciously when we stroke a dog
or comfort a baby…it is gentle and beyond words. And has the ability to connect us together at a deep
and wordless level. It soothes, comforts and connects us. Medieval mystics called this process of deep
connection ‘oneing’…spoken of in the major world faiths as non duality…Like poetry it is a primitive
magic that manifests on the edge and yet at the centre of our shared experience…and is perhaps
something that we can connect to more so at this time of year.
A time when the ‘skin’ between the living and the dead is thin…the ‘sweet spot’ of connection can be
found in our dreams and memories…in our tears and joys…and in many of the ‘remembrance’ events
that manifest now...
I hope we can all find that ‘sweet spot’ of connection with each other; with those that have already
passed beyond the veil and also within our own selves…to find a presence so we can make that
transition from the frenzied activity of harvest to the quieter times of winter as we release energy back
down into the roots of our and the world’s being.
Divine Mother; help us to remember that your centre is everywhere and your circumference is without
borders so we may trust your holding when we need containment and your release when we are
curious…
With Samhain Blessings and may All the Souls, Saints and Angels sing Joy into your Everyday.
